Why Acute Angles Are Less Than 90 Degrees

In geometry and mathematics, acute angles are angles whose measurements fall between 0 and 90 degrees or has a radian of fewer than 90 degrees. When the term is given to a triangle as in an  acute triangle, it means that all angles in the triangle are less than 90 degrees. It is important to note that the angle must be less than 90 degrees to be defined as an acute angle. If the angle is 90 degrees exactly, though, the angle is known as a right angle, and if it is greater than 90 degrees, it is called an obtuse angle. The ability of students to identify the different types of angles will greatly help them in finding the measurements of these angles as well as the lengths of the sides of shapes that feature these angles as there are different formulas students can use to figure out missing variables. Measuring Acute Angles Once students discover the different types of angles and begin to identify them by sight, its relatively simple for them to understand the difference between acute and obtuse and be able to point out a right angle when they see one. Still, despite knowing that all acute angles measure somewhere between 0 and 90 degrees, it may be difficult for some students to find the correct and precise measurement of these angles with the help of protractors. Fortunately, there are a number of tried and true formulas and equations for solving for missing measurements of angles and line segments that make up triangles. For equilateral triangles, which are a specific type of acute triangles whose angles all have the same measurements, consists of three 60 degree angles and equal length segments on each side of the figure, but for all triangles, the internal measurements of the angles always add up to 180 degrees, so if one angles measurement is known, its typically relatively simple to discover the other missing angle measurements. Using Sine, Cosine, and Tangent  to Measure Triangles If the triangle in question is a right angle, students can use trigonometry in order to find the missing values of the measurements of angles or line segments of the triangle when certain other data points about the figure are known. The basic trigonometric ratios of sine (sin), cosine (cos), and tangent (tan) relate a triangles sides to its non-right (acute) angles, which are referred to as theta (ÃŽ ¸) in trigonometry. The angle  opposite  the right angle is called the hypotenuse and the other two sides  that form the right angle are known as the legs. With these labels for the parts of a triangle in mind, the three trigonometric ratios (sin, cos, and tan) can be expressed in the following set of formulas: cos(ÃŽ ¸)   adjacent/hypotenusesin(ÃŽ ¸)   opposite/hypotenusetan(ÃŽ ¸)   opposite/adjacent If we know the measurements of one of these factors in the above set of formulas, we can use the rest to solve for the missing variables, especially with the use of a graphing calculator which has a built-in function for calculating sine, cosine, and tangents.

The Promise of Sociology by C. Wright Mills - 875 Words

According to C. Wright Mills, what occurs in any one individual s life is interrelated with society as a whole. The sociological imagination gives us the ability to understand the correlation of one s biography, history, and traditions along with the knowledge of the social and historical impact and/or influence society may have on that person or group of people. Mills notion compels us to investigate into an individual s biography and lifestyles, and place their findings within the surrounding circumstances in which events occur in order to perceive the whole picture of the society in which the individual lives. The Raven Essay Free Essays

The Romantic Story, the Raven Surprising enough, the famous story by Edgar Allan Poe, the Raven, is a Romantic poem. Poe was a poet during the Romantic period, making him a romantic writer/poet. Actually he was a dark romantic poet, which makes a little more sense. We will write a custom essay sample on The Raven Essay or any similar topic only for you Order Now The Raven typifies Romanticism in many ways, especially when it comes to their connection with God. Also Poe reveals many emotions throughout this poem. Romantics loved and cherished the natural world. They would rather be in the woods than in the city, and they also escaped to nature to find a more emotional and intellectual awakening. When it comes to God and spiritual beliefs, they place faith in inner experience and the power of imagination, everything including humans is a reflection of the divine soul, physical facts of the natural world are a doorway to the spiritual world, intuition allows people to behold God’s spirit revealed in nature or in their own souls. Dark Romantics explored the conflict between good and evil, the effects of guilt and sin, and the destructive underside of appearances. They also explored the madness in the human psyche as well as the humor of evil. The Raven mainly demonstrates connections to God. The Romantics believe that their imagination is of great importance in your life and in the Raven the narrators imagination got the best of him and he put faith in his imagination in thinking that his dead wife came back to life. The narrator hears something very quietly tapping on his door. He finally decides to go and answer the door, â€Å"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,/Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;/But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token,/And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, `Lenore! /This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, `Lenore! ‘/Merely this and nothing more† (Poe). In his imagination he saw Lenore, his wife who died and he believed it which shows the importance of the imagination. Romantics also believe that everything is a reflection of the divine soul and in the Raven the raven is a demon or a reflection of the devil. The narrator sa ys â€Å"And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,† which shows that he believes the raven is a demon and that the raven will take his soul to hell when he dies (Poe). The main emotions that Poe stressed are morning, grief and sadness. The narrator is morning the loss of his wife Lenore and he is depressed about it. The narrator was reading late at night to suppress the â€Å"sorrow for the lost Lenore† and he was sad and then he thought he saw her come back to life and come to the door (Poe). Poe also shows a few different emotions about how the narrator feels about the raven. He at first is cautious and even scared of the raven, especially since it could talk. He then became amused by the raven and develops a respect for the bird because he came in like he owned the place and started talking, well at least saying one word. Then by the end of the poem Poe does not like the bird at all and describes him as an â€Å"ungainly fowl† (Poe). The Dark Romantic Poet does a wonderful job at typifying Romanticism and expressing many emotions through his poem, the Raven. He shows how much the Romantics valued the imagination by the narrator thinking his dead wife came back to life and also how everything is a reflection of the divine soul by the narrator thinking that the raven is a demon. Poe also mainly stresses how the narrator is morning the loss of his wife and how he is depressed. The Raven is a perfect example of a typical Romantic poem. Research and Comply Regulatory Requirements †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Research and Comply Regulatory Requirements. Answer: Introduction: In order to complete the task requirements needed to be complied with include the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act, 1991, The Liquor Act, 2010, Tax Assessment Act, 1997. Along with these the Work Health and Safety Act, 2011 and the National Employment Standards are also analysed. These acts are important as it helps in identifying any breach in the legal framework of the country and ensures that businesses are compiled keeping in mind the legal aspects. The penalties applicable for violating these acts may fluctuate management depending upon the level of offence committed by the individuals. The licensing and legal requirements that have been identified include the Sale and Supply of Alcohol, 2012. The act is an enactment of the Sale of Liquor Act, 1989 that repealed a former licensing act. Section 169(1) contains the legal requirement permits mentioned in the act (Legislation.act.gov.au 2017). The requirements stated in the Australia New Zealand Food Standard Code is that every food needs to be labelled or need to have adequate information about the ingredients that are used for manufacturing the food. The various state and local levels of Australia have requirements that are to be met in order to ensure that the legal aspects regarding food standards are not violated. These requirements include a date of manufacturing of the food item and the place form the origin of the food. Listing procedures and requirements to extend a liquor license In order to extend a liquor license, managers need to ensure that the company is registered with the Australian Business License and Information Service. The required fees need to be submitted in order to gain an extension of the legal license in the country (Infrastructure.gov.au 2017). Statutory provisions for liquor licenses are required in order to sell or conduct business related to liquor. A commercial practice of licensing is required in order to maintain the requirements of a liquor license. The licensing for a proper liquor store includes insurance that deals with the breakdown of equipment, income and extra expenses, electronic data and new buildings. These insurances help an organisation from managing the loss it may suffer from the sale of liquor. The tax obligations that comply with the Australian liquor store and restaurant is that the managers need to ensure every due is met in order to continue legal business. In the case of income purposes, no amount can be withheld that may pose problems in the court of law. Listing requirements to comply with National Employment Standards The requirements that need to comply with respect to National Employment Standards include the maximum weekly hours, flexible working environment parental leaves and so on (Safeworkaustralia.gov.au 2017). In order to ensure that the health and safety are maintained the managers need to establish requirements for incident notification, consultation with the workers and any issues that need to be resolved. The sanitation of the place also needs to be checked as per WHS requirements. The risks that may occur in the sale of liquor is obtaining a legal license. This is important as the Government of Australia is federal and the laws of one state cannot be applied in other states. The areas needed for specialised legal advice is the ways by which employment and health of the employees can be ensured. Individuals under the age of 18 cannot be employed or allowed to purchase liquor as per the rules set in the Liquor Act, 2010 (Legislation.gov.au. 2017). The standard operating procedures that are required to comply with staff requirements in the food industry of Australia and New Zealand is to ensure that the employees maintain proper health conditions. The employees involved in the handling of food require washing hands and fingers thoroughly in order to avoid any infections. The staffs need to dry the hands using sterilised towels instead of paper towels to prevent recontamination of the hands. Listing requirements to comply with food act in state and local level In order to organise the local Government requirements as per food act in state and local level, it is required that the Government of Australia maintain provisions that prevent the overlapping of the rules in different states. As stated earlier, Australia is a federal Government meaning that rules of one state cannot be applied in other standards. AIIT hotel consists of a head chef, sous-chef, chefs and apprentices. Thus, it is required that the state and local level of the counties engage in employment health that requires maintaining proper employment rules. The employees need to be paid minimum wages in order to maintain the satisfaction of the employees. Penalties may apply if the rules are violated in the kitchen. The location of AIIT hotel requires the legalisation of liquor stores under the New South Wales Government policies. As per the standards set by the State Government, it is required that the licensing legislation used for recruiting nine floors and bar staff need to be licensed under the Liquor Act, 2010. The company need to be legalised under the on-premises subsidiary license. This provides permission to sell alcohol as a secondary product of the restaurant. The bar license is also required in order to maintain the business activity of selling liquor as a premium consumption for the individuals. The licensing need to have a capacity of 60 seats within the premises for people engaged in the consumption of alcoholic drinks (Foodstandards.gov.au 2017). Providing overview of legal tax obligations In order to ensure that fines and penalties regarding the payment of taxes are avoided, it is necessary that the managers of AIIT comply with the payment of taxes management. This includes remaining aware of the due dates that are required to be maintained for the payment of tax. In this regard, it can be said that the managers need to clear off the dues at the end of a financial year. This is applicable as the Australian Income Tax Act, 1997 (Unimelb.libguides.com 2017). As per the National Employment Standards, AIIT needs to recruit people based on the promise of paying maximum weekly wage. The selection of the candidates needs to be done in an unbiased manner with leaves given to the employees as fixed annual leave and parental leave. The National Employment Standards normally promote a safe working environment of the people (Austlii.edu.au 2017). The WHS requirements of the company include the prevention of bullying and harassment in the workplace. In order to do so, the company have set up policies that prevent the bullying and harassment of the employees. Penalties may apply to the extent that employees may be terminated from work due to the practice of such illegal acts (Fairwork.gov.au 2017). In order to ensure that the operational non-compliance is reduced in the organisation, it is necessary that the managers of AIIT maintain records in order to avoid controversies. The consistency can be maintained if the managers conduct a thorough checking of the legal applications that are required for maintaining a successful business. The monitoring system can help in implementing any modifications that are required for the smooth running of the organisation. The systems can be used to identify any breach in the departments of an organisation that does not comply with the working of the organisation. In order to remain updated with the changes in legislation, it is necessary that the managers of AIIT keep information from various sources. These sources include searching the web, following newspapers and news channels regularly in order to remain updated about the changes. This can help in providing suitable information to the employees as well. The staffs can be updated by publishing the changes in the bulletin boards and conducting a meeting. Managers need to encourage the staffs to remain updated regarding the legislation by collecting relevant information from the web. Responsibilities at every level need to be documented by the managers. The documentation that can be used to maintain compliance and improve on the activities of the organisation includes formulating contracts that need to maintain restrictions and policies regarding the improvements. This can be managed by updating the policies of AIIT and encourage changes in practises. Reference Austlii.edu.au. (2017).All Databases. Krik Krak Essays - Postcolonial Literature, Edwidge Danticat

Krik Krak For this assignment I decided that I would just write a brief overview of one of the stories in Edwidge Danticat?s book Krik? Krak!. The story that I have chosen to talk about is ?Between the Pool and the Gardenias.? I choose this one to discuss because I thought the circumstance between the lady and the child was very weird and intrigued me to look into it more in depth. So I am going to talk about the series of events in this story and my thoughts on the young women in the story. I am mainly going to focus on questions 2 and 3 in the study questions for Chapter 5 of Edwindge Danticat's book, Krik? Krak!. In this story I believe that the main reason that she takes the child is because she is lonely and wants to become close to someone. She also has had a couple miscarriages before and this has affected her greatly and caused her much suffering and mourning over the years. When she took in the child this made her dream about all of the thoughts and emotions that would have taken place if she had been able to conceive her children. She had been missing out of all the parts of parenthood that came with having a child and this baby that she picks up makes her feel more whole inside. The baby makes her life on this planet feel like she has a purpose for a short while and that is why she takes the baby into her house as one of her own. Now maybe this wouldn't be considered crazy everywhere, but what if the baby was already dead and you tried to do this then you would probably get taken into an insane asylum. This is the main reason why I believe that she is crazy because you usually don't see women picking up dead babies off the road and taking them home to care for them. Sure she has had tough luck bearing a child, but when she pretended that the baby was alive and breathing when she knew what was really wrong with the child was just ridiculous. It got really bad when she took the baby to town with her to try and fit in; this really taught me that the lady needs some severe medical help. Sure she is trying to fit in to the society, but to take a dead child to town to try and show everyone that you are a mother is just ridiculous. The next part that really confused me is when she said that the baby was just perfect because it never cried or caused any trouble. I tell you that Danticat did an excellent job writing t his because I had to go and read this chapter over to figure out that the baby was actually dead when she found it. I had to go read it because at the end when it started to stink I was really confused because I finally realized that it didn't do much moving before this, so this made me go back and read this chapter a little more in depth. That is why I liked this chapter so much; because it tricked me into believing that the child was always alive. So, as of now, I would have to say that this is my favorite chapter in the book so far; even though I really liked Chapter 3 ?A Wall of Fire Rising? a lot too. This is my short and very brief overview of Chapter 5 ?Between the Pool and the Gardenias.? Book Reports

Essay Sample on Emerson #8211; The Father of the American Literary Renaissance

Essay Sample on Emerson #8211; The Father of the American Literary Renaissance Ralph Waldo Emerson, considered the father of the American Literary Renaissance, wrote many essays to ultimately change the societal values surrounding him. In Self Reliance, Emerson conveys his philosophical idea that every individual has their own individual genius speaking universal truths. However this tends to be a hard to achieve with society imposing conformity, traditions, and institutions on society. To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, -that is genius(19). Emerson values individuality and believed that thinking for one’s self and trusting original ideas, help reach a universal truth that will ultimately benefit society as a whole. Thoreau, Whitman, Dickson, and Frederick Douglass, and Hawthorne’s writings all have an â€Å"Emersonian† essence of self-reliance and individual genius by conveying themes of individuality and non-conformity. Similar to Emerson, Thoreau dislikes institutions and promotes non-conformity. He believes the government stands in the way of individuality because the majority, instead of the individual thinker, makes decisions. Thoreau takes Emerson’s â€Å"Self Reliance† philosophy further by becoming an activist while following his conscious or individual thoughts. An example is Thoreau protesting slavery using Civil Disobedience, â€Å"If one HONEST man, in this State of Massachusetts, ceasing to hold slaves, were actually to withdraw from this co partnership, and be locked up in the county jail therefore, it would be the abolition of slavery in America†(9). Thoreau encourages disobeying unjust laws in order to change them. Eventually, he stops paying his poll tax for six years and is imprisoned. Acting as an individual by disobeying unjust laws is what will change the laws. When the individual follows its conscious, or what Emerson would call â€Å"individual genius,â₠¬ the universal truth would be apparent that unjust laws should not be followed. Thoreau refuses to let the system of government define the individual and supports individual genius through individual action and protest against unjust laws. Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman’s poetry contains the same themes of Emerson but writes in a more concrete way opposed to abstract theories. Dickinson writes mainly of the self-reliant, private individual. Many of Dickinson’s poems such as, â€Å"I Died for Beauty† and â€Å"Because I Could Not Stop for Death,† deal with immortality. She views death as private thing that everyone goes through alone, isolating everyone. In contrast, Whitman portrays a more democratic side of the universal self. He differs from Emerson believing that society is inspirational to the individual opposed to drowning out the individual thought. The Poem, â€Å"Song of Myself† says everyone is an individual but differences should not separate everyone. â€Å"My tongue, every atom of my blood, form’d from this soil, this air, Born here of parents born here from parents the same and their parents the same.† Whitman believes the differences between each individu al are not important because the same universe created everyone. However he does realize the importance of not conforming to everyone when saying, â€Å"I harbor for good or bad, I permit to speak at every hazard†(26). Whitman speaks through is individual genius even if what he says is not agreed upon. Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Self Reliance influenced both poets to speak their universal truths through their poetry. Frederick Douglass’ autobiography was not knowingly written with the influence of Emerson but is living proof of the philosophy of self-reliance. Douglass lived a much different life from Emerson, being born into slavery and witnessing humanity being stripped away from fellow slaves. Slaves would be whipped, beaten, and sometimes even shot. After witnessing his own aunt beaten as a young boy, Douglass comes to the realization, more similar Whitman, that everyone shares a universal human nature. This is more democratic compared to Emerson’s more individualistic idea, believing all men are equal. Douglass determined to dedicate his life to the emancipation of all slaves does also compare with Emerson later on in his life. By befriending other boys in his neighborhood, Douglass learns to read and write. He finds this as a necessity to speak universal truths and express his own genius and be credible to others. Douglass compares with Emerson through his actions but differs in the life that he lived. â€Å"Nothing can bring you peace but yourself. Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles†(32). These last two lines from â€Å"Self Reliance† essay represent Emerson’s individualistic concepts. Emerson values the equal individual that is in touch with their universal genius. Thoreau promotes this individuality and non-conformity through civil disobedience. Through poetry, Dickinson and Whitman speak their own genius. Whitman thinks more democratically while Dickinson values the private individual. Fredrick Douglass is proof of finding his own genius and universal truths and uses these concepts to help free himself and fellow slaves of the deprivation of universal humanity that all men deserve. Though these writers may ultimately be trying to convey different messages, all contain the theme of self-reliance and influence of Emerson. Reading response 25 enteries of mistakes made from slip of the tongue Essay

Reading response 25 enteries of mistakes made from slip of the tongue - Essay Example The existence of phonemic or lexical errors in the above sentences offers evidence that the speakers are engaging on forward planning of their utterances. It can be noted from the speech errors that speakers need to adhere to a certain set of linguistic rules. For instance, phonetic constraints prescribe the possible sequences of sounds. Additionally, the studies on speech error have found that there is existence of rules that stipulates the manner in which morphemes are pronounced or how they need to be used together with other morphemes. According to Garrett (1980), the examples below show that speech errors also observe these rules. From the speech errors it can be deduced that elements that interact with each another have a tendency to semantically or phonetically to be same to one another. This means that vowels and vowels exchange and consonants with consonants, the slips are consistent with the language phonological rules, and lastly, in speech errors there are consistent stress patterns. Primarily, both interacting segments receive minor or major

Concept of culture shock and reflective diary Essay

Concept of culture shock and reflective diary - Essay Example 16 Reisinger, Y. &, Turner, L. 2003. Cross cultural behaviour in tourism. London: British Library 16 Concept of ‘Culture Shock’ Culture shock is the feeling of dissociation that one feels upon travelling to a foreign country and experiencing a sudden change in their way of life. It is experienced due to a sudden change in food, clothing, manner of communication and even the roles of men and women in the community as. It results from one being unable to read the cultural cues as they differ from the ones, which an individual was familiar with at home. Culture shock has been identified to occur in five different phases Euphoria, disintegration, reintegration, adjustment and re-entry, each one has its own challenges and should be handled in a different manner from the other. Before Travel Before preparing to travel to a new destination, the individual should read as much as they can about their new location. Background knowledge will result in the traveller being prepared t o see some of the things that differ from their culture, which will mean lower shock, and less confrontation between the traveller and the indigenous people (Greensboro, n.d). Upon arrival, the traveller should also talk to his embassy about the local culture there, this is imperative to add on the learning in order to get a first-hand detailed description of the differences they will experience from those from their own country. While China is trying to improve its international image, its public toilets have been of very low hygiene standards (Bailie and Jeff, 2013) and most foreigners are generally advised by their own fellow citizens to not use the public ones but rather wait to use the ones at their hotel. This is information that can only be got from first-hand experience and not from any average travel website. Initial Euphoria Upon arrival, the newcomer to the society is usually excited by the experience of going to a new culture. The new way of life seems extremely appealin g and is usually experienced by those who have stayed there for at most a month. Many tourists on holiday experience this and travel back home without progressing to the other stages. People in the euphoric stage use words such as enchanting, magical, mystical, beautiful and exotic to describe the places they have travelled to as they are experiencing the new country for the first time even when the new country has high levels of poverty and a low development level (Pedersen, 1995). The reason for this is that the locals of the destination country recognize that you are a foreigner and therefore exempt you from the social expectations and cultural norms that the rest of the country is governed by. The locals therefore dismiss the foreigner as just been ignorant instead of confronting them as they would a local (Pedersen, 1995). Police also realize that the national image is at stake when a foreigner lodges a complaint and will do their best to ensure that their problems are resolved quickly in order to avoid complaints being lodged by the embassy resulting in their supervisors coming to scrutinise their work. Locals also try their best to ensure that foreigners will leave with a good report of the country and therefore see to it they explain to them the dangers of doing certain things that would be criticised in the destination c

Cultural Norm Assignment cultural anthropology using book by carol r Essay

Cultural Norm Assignment cultural anthropology using book by carol r. ember Melvin Ember - Essay Example The definition of culture that relies on social groups means that it is a relative concept that varies from one cultural group to another (28). One of the major characteristics of culture is its dynamism that can be considered from two perspectives, cross sectional dynamism and dynamism. Cultural dynamism refers to transition in cultural constructs within a cultural group over a period, or across cultural groups. Dynamism within a group may for example be realized across generations while dynamism across groups identifies fundamental differences in values and practices among cultures. The dynamic feature of culture is important to anthropologists’ interest of understanding and explaining how the changes occur and driving factors behind the changes (Ember and Ember, 6). Other important characteristics of culture include mode of learning that is social, the fact that it is shared among members of a community and its associated symbols. Anthropologists therefore need to understand what culture is and how it works so that they can identify and develop meanings from the different characteristics of culture. This is particularly important with indigenous cultures whose fundamentals can be traced over time, and compared with other cultures (Anthro 1). The observed cultural norms in a nursing set up were scientific belief on causes of illness and honest expressions in communications. These two are considered norms because they are common practices that have been historically observed and considered cultural. They facilitate service delivery in the health care set up that requires cooperation between care personnel and patients. Cultural belief on causes of diseases is for example instrumental on a patient’s willingness to seek treatment and the scientific norm of causes of diseases facilitates scientific approaches towards provision of health

Importance of Social Marketing

Importance of Social Marketing Social marketing is objective to influence the social behaviors but not to benefit the marketer, but to benefit the target market and the society (Weinreich, 2006). While demarketing is an efforts aimed at discouraging the consumer to demand the product which a firm cannot produce in available product, or does not want to provide in a certain places where the cost of distribution is high and allow only a too little profit (Business dictionary.com, 2014). Therefore, in the following section, it will discuss the importance of social marketing and demarketing to tis current environment. Therefore, the first importance of the social marketing to its current environment is health care. This is due to the public health is going to globalization as a popular issues to the whole world as long as not only concern to local communities. For example, â€Å"36 million deaths each year are caused by non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and chronic lung diseases and 6.7 million people of infectious diseases alone, far more than the number killed in the natural or man-made catastrophes that make headlines in 2008 † (Shah, 2014).. Therefore, it is importance to the social marketing to solve the problem of health care to influence consumers toward health behaviour. This is because of the strengths of social marketing for health are aimed to achieving and maintaining behavioural objectives, by understanding consumers and implement more simple way to ensure them to adopt the behaviour that the life are improving (Griffiths, Stevens Thorp e et al, 2008). Hence, the strategies of the social marketers to influence the health behaviour can through the social media, mediated through a health care consultant and other ways of communication (Evans, 2006). Firstly, social marketers use the communication channels to influence the health behaviour by giving the information of health through the one-way distribution of information. It has given way to a multimodal transactional model of communication. It is the most effective way to reach people about health issues by sending the messages to peoples. This group of people usually based on social demographic, cultural and behaviour characteristics that may be combined with the behaviour change. For example, the National Cancer Institutes â€Å"five a day for better health† campaign developed a specific messages aimed at Hispanic people, due to national report that they consume less fruit and vegetables and may have cultural reasons that discourage them from eating locally available produce (Evans, 2006). Next, the second strategy of the social marketing uses to influence the health behaviour by health promotion. It will increase the community commitment to develop social wealth through a successful health promotion programmes to encourage the communities to develop stronger networks and long-term creativities that are self-supporting to have a long term effect (Griffiths, Stevens Thorpe et al, 2008). Besides that, health promotion is concerned on health and wellbeing outcomes, which improved society health and reducing the inequalities of health and social. It aims to allow people and communities to maintain their own health and wellbeing by attainment control over the underlying factors that influence health and well-being (Griffiths, Stevens Thorpe et al, 2008). In conclusion, as concluded different authors based on above statement, it shows that the effectiveness of social marketing on the health issues and the importance of social marketing to r aise the awareness of health behaviour to reduce the amount of people death on health problem. Furthermore, the next importance of social marketing to its current environment is environmental protection. This is due to the individual behaviour is the cause of a major number of environmental problems, lack of control of individual behaviour from environmental legislation, which normally focus on industrial sources of environmental harm. Besides that, it shows also people contributed around 32% of the United States ‘’annual greenhouse gas emissions, totalling approximately 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions’’ (Kennedy, 2010). After that, the overuse of agrochemical and pesticides and improper farming are one of the main cause to the pollution and degradation to several land zones national. In addition, there is the problem of some land areas polluted with Agent Orange or dioxin as war consequences (Hanoi, 2003). Hence, to reduce the gas emissions, some strategies are used it, such as incentives. It are a useful tool to encourage individual behaviour change, obviously shown on increasing in recycling, with the group provided with incentives increasing its recycling by 54% (Kennedy, 2010). Moreover, implementation a new Environmental Protection Act in 2004 which aimed to control and reduce of environmental emission also is one of the strategies use to protect the environment (Republic of Slovenia, 2010). In other sides, the social marketing activities designed to address for those specific recycling opportunities with the State Solid Waste Management Plan provides a point of reference, such as selecting target group and objective. As a result, the â€Å"Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Recycling Litter Prevention has adopted social marketing methods to assist SWMDs and local governments meet and exceed the State Plan recycling goals†, for example, a research show how the overall moving and local communities successful achieved the meeting goal in the 2004 Progress Report of the State Plan, non-subscripti on curb side recycling programs reported by SWMDs had increased from 233 to 352 (Landis, 2005). In conclusion, it also shows how the effectiveness the social marketing toward to the environment as the global warming is increased by year to year. In conclusion, it shows the importance of social marketing toward to the environment and aimed by different strategies. Moreover, the demarketing also is an importance tool that use to discourage people purchase from certain product, such as alcohol and cigarette. Therefore, the importance of demarketing to its current environment is tobacco consumption. This is due to the tobacco would kill one person in every ten second and continue increasing to 3 seconds over the next 40 years ( Udupa, 2007). Therefore, it is necessary to implement the demarketing strategies to solve the problem. The strategies of demarketing implement to the tobacco consumption is raised cigarette taxes, restricted smoking in the public area, offered smoking cessation services diversity to smokers and conducted an aggressive paid advertising campaign on the dangers of ETS and second-hand smoking (Gupta, 2014). The purposes of government of raise up the tax on cigarette to force the company to increase the price which discourage the consumer buy the cigarette. Tobacco taxation which passed on to consumers in the higher cigarette p rices has been recognized as one of the most effective strategies for decreasing smoking and its opposed health consequences (Bader, Boisclair, Ferrence, 2011). For example, in Texas and Iowa, which each increased their cigarette taxes by $1.00 in 2007 and shown the effect of smoker quit from it has improved compared to the 2006. It is also showing that these efforts to reduce the smokers after tax increases have significantly improvement (Boonn, 2012). In addition, warning labels also one of the strategies that discouraging the people to smoke. This is due to the warning labels is aimed to inform smokers about the health hazards of smoking, encourage smokers to quit, and prevent non-smokers to smoke. Furthermore, warning labels on tobacco products are a way of communicating with smokers. As a result, a 2007 study in Nicotine Tobacco Research found that most of smokers in the United States strongly supported, a detailed warning labels similar to those used in Canada, and appreciate d the information they provide. Therefore, it shows in the 2009 New York State Adult Tobacco Survey most 80% of non-smokers and 58% of smokers in New York support the strategy of warning label with full information on cigarette packs and the of New Yorkers has increased significantly over time( Campaign for tobacco free kid). For example, one of the demarketing efforts for tobacco control in India was implemented regulation in 2001 which included the outlawing smoking in public places, forbidding sale of tobacco to minor, more prominent health warning labels and ban advertising at sport and culture events. Besides that, Indian parliament introduced Tobacco Control Bill 2001 which prohibition of advertisement and regulation of trade and business, production, supply (Cumminge, 2002). In conclusion, it shows the importance of demarketing to discourage the people from buying the cigarette by imposed the legislation. In addition, the next importance of the demarketing to its current environment is limited the use of car. This is due to as a rapid growth of the population, the number of using cars is increasing and caused to traffic congestion. For example, as Liu (2014) stated that around 185,000 vehicles drive through to the city of London in Britain every day and traffic was worse as the average speed just 15 kph in 1999. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the use of car to overcome the traffic congestion. Hence, there are strategies of demarketing to reduce the use of car, such as congestion charge. It is an economic way of regulating traffic by imposing fees on vehicle users that drive through a citys more crowded roads. After proposed this strategy, the responded of the congestion charge has helped solving the traffic problem, increase the capital to build public transport and protect environment by reducing emissions (Liu, 2014). Next, the strategy of demarketing that use to limit the use of car is auto-free zones. It is designed to any area where traffic is prohibited in some area, which complete closure of streets, such as pedestrian malls, parking controls, neighbourhood parking permits. These are implemented in downtown areas or centre city areas from a complete ban of transportation from an area, to the restriction of movements of certain types of vehicles within an area. Next, parking controls refer to the exclusion of parking from streets in the area. The purpose of parking restrictions is to discourage people from driving to the area in private vehicles, and to enable movement throughout the area by removing on-street parking. Besides that, auto restricted zones most regularly implemented in downtown areas which needed renewal and effective in reduce congestion on the freeways. These strategies also would result in increased traffic capability on the highways, resulted from reduced in delays due to accidents. (Vehicle Use Limitations / Restrictions). In conc lusion, as there were occurred the problem of traffic congestion, the limiting use of cars should implement and reduce the car use to overcome the problem that occur by several strategies of demarketing. As a conclusion, since there often different problem that might need some strategies used to solute the problem toward to the society, social marketing and demarketing are the most effective tool in solving the problem. Although the social marketing is used to influence the behaviour change with benefit to the society, while demarketing is used to reduce the demand of the product, but, both of this two are bring out the benefit to the society.
